MOSCOW, October 9, 2002. /from a RIA Novosti correspondent/. The Russian
government will give a preliminary estimation of the all-Russia population
census on November 14, Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Statistics
Committee Alexander Surimov told a press conference in RIA Novosti on Wednesday.
According to him, the cabinet of ministers will consider the problems of
holding the census in different Russian regions.
In addition, the government will take a final decision on the form of
publication of census results. According to Surimov, preliminary census
data are expected to be published till March 31, 2003. The data will include
information on the number of Russia's population, its age-sex-marital status
and territorial distribution. The final results of the all-Russia population
census will be published in 12 volumes in the end of 2003, Surimov said.
